Authorization of Out-Of-State Medical Personnel

The Emergency Medical Services Agency (EMSA) has adopted policies and procedures governing the use of out-of-state medical personnel to respond to the COVID-19 outbreak pursuant to Governor’s Emergency Proclamation on March 4, 2020.

EMSA requires the facility or staffing agency utilizing out-of-state medical personnel complete the Authorization Request Form and submit it to EMSA for approval. As long as the individual holds a license in any state that allows them to practice, they will be approved.

Information regarding the policy and links to the required forms can be found directly on the EMSA website.

If you have any questions, please reach out to EMSA via email at COVID19@emsa.ca.gov.
